Eight Track Mind is the idea of people making rock music. The band manifests that idea in its basic form.
The classic makeup of bass and drums, two guitars, and vocal harmonies are employed. There is no pretense, glam, or lightshow. There is no agenda or market. Eight Track Mind is simply music that imitates life in a world where all we seem to create are caricatures of ourselves.
Eight Track Mind is Steve Rubin (vocals and guitar), Todd L. Frank (drums), Chris Goett (rhythm guitar, vocals), and Frank Caputo (bass, vocals). They have created a new CD that harkens the days of vinyl. And, really, why progress? This debut, The Art of Making Noise, starts with raw drum and guitar tracks recorded live with four microphones. Layers of aesthetic instrumentation and crisp vocals were added to create a truly original, yet identifiable, sound. The album is well produced without being flattened into the unremarkable quality of today's characteristic formula. The Art of Making Noise is an upbeat, refreshing taste of guitar-driven music that keeps the spirit of the rock's past alive while carefully integrating modern influences.
